Players couldn't do it without support permission in the past. But now we have a special option in Clash of Clans. Just launch the game and tap on Setting menu. You'll find Change name option there. Tap on it and enter your new name. But remember that you can use renaming option only one time.
If you have already used this option, then you should contact with support of SuperCell. You must notice your nickname and the reason of renaming. Many users write that other players make fun of their current name. So, it could an important reason.
