Kingsoft Antivirus

Kingsoft AntiVirus is a simple and small system guardian that has real-time protection. It was developed by Chinese team. The software is not as comprehensive as other free antiviruses. However, it has its own advantages. The antivirus doesn’t consume too many resources. It requires about 19-20 MB RAM. And it means that you can work with sophisticated programs as AutoCAD or Sony Vegas, or play games, and your system won’t be slowed down.

The antivirus has a simple interface with 4 tabs: Scan, Settings, Tools, and Services. There are three methods of scanning (Scan tab): full, quick and custom. Tools menu has 4 utilities that can help you to optimize and clean the system. There are Disk Cleaner, History Cleaner, System Repair and Processor Supervisor. If you want to disable auto protection or self-defense option, you should open Settings tab. The antivirus also has Download, USB and IM protection settings. Your USB devices, downloaded files, and instant messengers will be secured while these options are active.

You should know that Kingsoft Antivirus is not a complex tool. It’s the lightweight antivirus that the program was made for the Asian market, not for European or USA. It can’t detect some threats that you can face only in Europe or the USA. So, it’s not as powerful as we want. This software will be helpful if you don’t need a bulky antivirus. We recommend you to download a fresh version of Kingsoft Antivirus if you won’t have uninstallation problem that old versions have.
