SpeedFan is a popular and lightweight utility for hardware and cooling system monitoring. It will help you to control a speed of your fan and view temperatures of your motherboard and hard drive disk. Also, the program can read voltages and check the status of your HDD.
The utility has a very simple interface. You can see the following tabs: Readings, Clock, Info, Exotics, S.M.A.R.T, and Charts. After launching, the program will scan your PC devices. It doesn’t take too much time. All of them will be displayed in the Readings tab. It’s the main screen where you can find temperatures of your CPU and GPU, fan RPM, and voltage scores. Every CPU has its own parameters. So, you need to know a temperature limit for your processor. If you want to view charts with temperatures, fan speeds, and voltages, you should open the Charts tab and select what you need to monitor. If you want to change the language, you need to click on the Configure button (the Reading tab) and switch to the Options tab. The Configure menu has a lot of additional options. It was designed for advanced users. You can also change a speed of your fans using this menu (Speeds and Advanced tab).
The S.M.A.R.T tab allows you to test your hard drive. There are two types of test: extended and short. The extended test will take more time than the short one. The end result will be displayed in the Status graph. Users can also perform an in-depth online analysis of their hard disks.
If you are looking for a qualitative and reliable application for PC diagnostics and fan controlling, then SpeedFan has what you need.
