VideoPad Video Editor is a simple and compressive video editing tool. It’s good software for home usage. The utility provides a variety of editing tools, visual effects, and transitions. It allows users to capture a screen from external webcam and create videos for YouTube. You can also use video profile settings as a template for portable devices.
The program has a user-friendly interface. It allows you to drag and drop media files in the workspace area. The menu panel is on the top part of the screen. It includes standard buttons as Save, Open, Add File, Add Text, Record, and others. There are also additional tabs as Export, Audio, Clips, Sequence, Suite, and Custom. The project manager (the file browser) is on the left side, below the top menu. It has four tabs for imported media files. You can load video, audio, and images there. The preview screen is on the right side, below the menu. It allows you to show clip or sequence preview. Track lines are on the bottom part of the screen. There is only one timeline which includes video and audio track. You can apply visual and audio effects using appropriate tabs which are on the top menu. Use the right-click of the mouse to lock or mute a track. To edit a fragment, use Split button that allows you to create special markers.
You’ll be asked to set up extra utilities during the installation. If you won’t install them, don’t select these check boxes.
VideoPad can be a good alternative to standard Windows video editors. Besides, it has a convenient timeline.
