Click on the User Settings button as it is shown in the picture below.
Switch to App settings tab → Overlay → Enable in-game overlay.
Then click on Toggle Overlay Lock → Edit Keybind → change default hotkey to prevent various issues that cause overlay crash down.
Switch to App settings → Voice & Video → Video Codec → turn off H.264 Hardware Acceleration. Sometimes GPU acceleration can stop overlay launching.
You should know that gaming anti-cheat system obstructs Discord overlay starting. Also, some apps that have their own overlay can block your in-game overlay.
